Title: Electro-Mechanical Technician
Department: Maintenance
Status: Full Time
Supervisor: Plant Manager
Purpose of Position:
Incumbent will focus on control circuitry and panels to support operation of integrated automation components. Additional activities will include: setup, calibration and related programming of temperature and process controls.
Essential Functions
- Program PLCs
- Create wiring diagrams
- Provide technical direction to electricians, helpers and other member of the Engineering Development and Maintenance staffs
- Coach mechanical staff to operate and identify operating problems of electronic controls
- Interface with Project Development team
- All other duties assigned
- In a growing organization such as ours, adherence to set policies is a must. However, in order to assure a smooth running operation, improvements, modifications, discontinuations or changes will be made when necessary.

- Computer
- Electronic testing equipment, hand and power tools
Education & Qualification Requirements
- Proven electrical and electronic ability demonstrated by observation, past experience and results
- Formal schooling in electrical and electronic theory and principals, wiring specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, principles of operation, and application of electrical and electronic equipment and automation components
- Electro/mechanical training as well as training and experience with automation devices, related controls and programming
- Computer literate; CAD, Excel and Microsoft Word
- 3 to 5 years career experience emphasizing diagnosis and repair of electronic controls for industrial multi-motion and malfunction equipment
- Strong diagnostic ability
- Installation/field service experience
- Read and understand manuals and electro/mechanical drawings and specifications
- Coaching skills
- Radio frequency (RF) generator experience, or the background to learn RF generator operation maintenance
- Conduct activities employing industry and Company accepted Lock Out Tag Out procedures
- Complete assigned tasks on a timely basis
- Good English language speaking and reading skills
- Occasional extended work hours
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk through the plant.
- The employee is required occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical circuits and electronic/electrical control panels.
