Title: Security Guard
Department: Safety/Security
Status: Full Time, 2nd Shift
Supervisor: Safety & Security Manager

Purpose of Position:
The responsibility of the Security Guard ensures that the building is secure at all times and the environment is safe for every employee. May supervise others.

Essential Functions:

Maintain the security of the building:
  • Making sure all doors are locked.
  • Verify that surveillance cameras are operating properly and recording 24 hours a day
  • Incoming and outgoing inspections of employees for weapons and pilferage
  • Conduct physical inspection of the facility daily, and inspection upon notification of anything out of the ordinary
  • Walking tours of the building at least once each hour to identify any potential security problems or fire hazards
  • Conduct Loss of Asset investigations
  • Assign and maintain control of employee lockers
Maintain safety of the employees:
  • Perform 1st aid for DMI and Agency employees and make first notification of the incident
  • Immediately report any unsafe conditions noted to area supervisor for follow up
  • Obtain from the area supervisor Accident or Incident Reports, investigate the incident and review the report for completeness, submit to the Health & Safety Manager and the Safety & Security Manager
  • Provides or coordinates transportation to medical facility for DMI employees requiring non-urgent medical attention
  • Prepare daily computerized log detailing all activities and any safety violations found and submit to the Safety & Security Manager
  • In a growing organization such as ours, adherence to set policies is a must; however to ensure a smooth running operation, modifications, discontinuations or changes will be made to the position description as necessary

Responsibility:
Conduct yourself consistent with company work rules and/or policies/procedures along with department management guidelines.

Working Relationships:
  • Working relationships will be with Director of Operations, Safety & Security Manager, company management, Safety Team members and other personnel.
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing and establish and maintain good working relationships with all.
Education & Qualification Requirements:
  • College degree and/or security training preferred
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of work experience in the security field
  • Preferably certified in First Aid
  • Computer skills
  • Good people skills, convey a positive and professional attitude to customers and visitors
  • Inquisitive and detail oriented
  • Mature judgment, not a follower
  • Demonstrate good written and communication skills, bilingual A+
  • Driver’s license
  • Some overtime required
  • The legal courtesy of leaving the Company with clean hands. All details, materials, listings and records pertaining to the Company, its clients and related materials used while servicing the Company and its clients remain at the Company upon departure.
